Each offshore mining installation which is manned, either permanently or temporarily, is provided with one or more survival craft, which allow persons on board to abandon the installation in case of emergency. In the Basic Coxswain Lifeboat (conventional & freefall) (NOGEPA 2.7AC&F) course delegates gain knowledge and skills on conventional and freefall lifeboats.
Delegates of the basic Coxswain Lifeboat (conventional & freefall) (NOGEPA 2.7AC&F) course practice their skills in the preparation, launching and handling of a rescue craft on board an offshore installation, being a conventional and freefall lifeboat. Furthermore they gain knowledge to act as the responsible person for a lifeboat and its passengers during normal operation and in the event of an emergency.
This course is intended for persons designated as coxswain of survival craft (Conventional lifeboat/capsule or Freefall lifeboat).
Delegates need to be in the possession of a valid Offshore Medical Certificate.
The certificate is valid for 2 years.
