If you are new to the offshore oil and gas industry (working on a production platform, drill rig, FPSO, etc.), it is mandatory to follow a safety training. The Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (OPITO BOSIET) and NOGEPA 0.5a is the necessary training to follow before you can travel to and work on an offshore platform. This training is accepted worldwide. Ask your contractor / employer whether additional modules are required for the area where you will be working.
The main elements in the Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (OPITO BOSIET) / NOGEPA 0.5a are: safety induction, fire safety and basic firefighting, first aid, helicopter safety, evacuation and survival at sea.
Special attention in this training course is paid to the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS). During the training, participants learn about the fundamental differences between a re-breather and a compressed air system, the use of a CA-EBS in a helicopter emergency and the potential dangers of using a CA-EBS. The CA EBS exercises take place in water in accordance with the mutual recognition agreement between Oil & Gas UK (OPITO) and NOGEPA.
This training is intended for personnel who start working on an offshore platform for the first time and need an OPITO and / or NOGEPA certification or Norwegian Oil & Gas acceptance.
There are no training prerequisites required for the BOSIET and CA EBS.
The delegate must be in the possession of a valid, offshore medical certificate. If you have any questions regarding the validity of your certificates/prerequisites, please contact our business support department: email@example.com or +31 181 376 600
