In the DGUV Elektrotechnisch unterwiesene Person (EuP) – Grundunterweisung (in English the Electrically instructed person – basic training) employees in the wind industry who are non-electricians are trained to perform work on electric equipment in a safe manner. They need to perform their job under the supervision of a qualified electrician. The training helps them to assess the risks and avoid dangers, which can arise from the use of electric current. With the DGUV EuP certificate workers in the wind industry are allowed to perform specific types of work according to the directive number 3 DGUV (previously – BGV A3) and rules number 4 DGUV (previously- DGUV-V A3). This includes checking the non-existence of voltage, performing the work in the vicinity of the electric parts under voltage, switching off the voltage according to the instructions etc.
