RelyOn Nutec provides the GWO Fire Awareness refresher training so wind personnel can refresh their knowledge and skills on how to prevent fires, extinguish small fires by using basic hand held fire equipment and evacuate when necessary.
The GWO Fire Awareness refresher module is in accordance with the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards.
The aims of this course are to give the participants the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to prevent fires, conduct initial and appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel to ensure all are safely evacuated and accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire, and, if it is judged to be safe, to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic hand held firefighting equipment.
Prior to the practical training at a training centre, you need to complete the e-learning module. You can start the e-learning up to 4 weeks prior to the start date of the practical training and it needs to be completed 48 hours prior to the training at the training centre. To be able to complete the e-learning in time, you can sign up for this blended learning 4 days before the start date of the practical training.
Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields, and will carry out their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or offshore wind structure.
Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or workplace, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate the identified risks.
Delegates must hold a valid and in-date GWO Fire Awareness certificate or Refresher certificate.
The online component of the course will provide you with the prerequisite knowledge and awareness required ahead of participation in the onsite practical sessions.
The certificate is valid for 2 years.
