In the 1-day module Working at Heights delegates will refresh their knowledge on possible risks, (inspection of) equipment, legislation etc. as well as all skills required for working and rescue at height. The training enables them to work in a safe manner in the wind industry and to meet emergency response training requirements for personnel in the global wind industry.
The objective of this BSTR Working at Heights module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills through online and practical training so that delegates can administer safe and effective Working at Heights in the industry according to the GWO standard.
Prior to the practical training at a training centre, you need to complete the e-learning module. You can start the e-learning up to 4 weeks prior to the start date of the practical training and it needs to be completed 48 hours prior to the training at the training centre. To be able to complete the e-learning in time, you can sign up for this blended learning 4 days before the start date of the practical training.
Personnel who works in the wind industry or related fields, and will carry out their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or offshore wind structure.
Personnel with job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or workplace, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate the identified risks.
All delegates must hold a valid and in-date GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Working at Height or BST refresher certificate, or must have training records in WINDA for the relevant modules.
The online component of the course will provide you with the prerequisite knowledge and awareness required ahead of participation in the onsite practical sessions.
For the practical training:
- Delegates must be demonstrably medically fit and capable of fully participating.
- Delegates may not exceed the weight limit of 124kg due to the weight limitations of the equipment which is used during the training.
The certificate is valid for 2 years.
