To create a safer working environment, RelyOn Nutec provides personnel working in the wind industry with basic knowledge and skills during a GWO Fire Awareness course. This module of the Basic Safety Training applies to the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards and offers theoretical and practical training for personnel in the wind industry.
The aims of the GWO Fire Awareness course are to give the participants the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to prevent fires, conduct initial and appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel to ensure all are safely evacuated and accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire, and, if it is judged to be safe, to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic hand held fire fighting equipment.
Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields, and will carry out their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or offshore wind structure.
Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or workplace, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate the identified risks.
Delegates participating in the GWO Fire Awareness training must be demonstrably medically fit and capable of fully participating.
The certificate is valid for 2 years.
