Course description

Correct manual handling is very important when you have to handle goods many times a day and in a confined space. In the GWO Manual Handling refresher module RelyOn Nutec provides manual handling techniques to minimize the risks and contribute to a safer work environment in the wind industry. Main focus in the refresher training is to practice correct techniques.
The content of the course applies to the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standard for the Manual Handling module as part of the Refresher Basic Safety Training for wind industry.

This GWO Manual Handling refresher module will improve and refresh delegates’ awareness through theoretical and practical training to encourage positive manual handling behaviour and perform manual handling activities in a safe manner. The main focus of this BSTR is to practice the correct manual handling techniques.

Target group

Personnel who works in the wind industry or related fields, and carries out their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or offshore wind structure.

Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or workplace, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate the identified risks.

Prerequisites and validity

Delegates:

  • Must possess a valid BST or BSTR Manual Handling certificate prior to attending this BSTR Manual Handling training.
  • Participating in the Basic Safety Training shall be demonstrably medically fit and capable of fully participating.

The certificate is valid for 2 years.
