By providing a course in GWO Manual Handling techniques RelyOn Nutec aims to minimize the risks and contribute to a safer work environment in the wind industry. Practical skills will be trained and demonstrated in a restricted area of movement. The content of the course applies to the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standard for the Manual Handling module as part of the Basic Safety Training for wind industry.
The aims of the GWO Manual Handling module are to give the participants awareness through theoretical and practical training to encourage positive Manual Handling behavior and perform Manual Handling activities in a safe manner in the wind turbine industry/environment, in accordance with GWO Manual Handling.
Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields, and will carry out their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or offshore wind structure.
Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or workplace, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate the identified risks.
All personnel participating in Basic Safety Training shall be demonstrably medically fit and capable of fully participating.
The certificate is valid for 2 years.
