Each offshore mining installation which is manned, either permanently or temporarily, is provided with one or more survival craft, which allow persons on board to abandon the installation in case of emergency. In the Refresher Coxswain Lifeboat (conventional & freefall) & Refresher Coxswain Man Overboard (NOGEPA 2.7BC&F+2.3B) course delegates refresh their knowledge on conventional and freefall lifeboats as well as a fast rescue craft which is used for man overboard situations.
Delegates of this combination refresher course practice their skills in the preparation, launching and handling of a rescue craft on board an offshore installation, being a conventional and freefall lifeboat. Furthermore they refresh their knowledge to act as the responsible person for a lifeboat and its passengers during normal operation and in the event of an emergency.
This course is intended for persons designated as coxswain of survival crafts (Conventional lifeboat and Freefall lifeboat) as well fast rescue boats/MOB boat.
Delegates need to be in the possession of:
- a valid 2.7AC&F or 2.7BC&F certificate
- a valid 2.3A or 2.3B certificate
- a valid Offshore Medical Certificate
The certificate is valid for 2 years.
