Course description

In the NOGEPA Helicopter Firefighting refresher course the persons who are designated to act as Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) or Helicopter Deck Assistant (HDA) at a mining installation refresh their knowledge and skills in helicopter firefighting. This training is applicable for HLO’s/HDA’s who work at an offshore mining installations without refueling capacity for helicopters. In case the helideck team consists of 2 persons the HLO and HDA, both shall be able to rescue crew and passengers from a burning helicopter.

In this training participants refresh their knowledge by practical training in helicopter firefighting and rescue actions.

Target group

Persons designated to act as Helicopter Landing Officer or Helicopter Deck Assistant at an offshore mining installation without refueling operations, and not in the possession of a valid registration in the Personal Safety Logbook of the NOGEPA 2.6 Member Firefighting and Rescue team Offshore course.

Prerequisites and validity

The delegate:

  • Needs to be in the possession of an Offshore Medical certificate.
  • Should be medically fit for the use of breathing apparatus, registered in the Personal Safety Logbook.

The certificate is valid for 2 years.
