In the Refresher Man Overboard Coxswain (NOGEPA 2.3B) course delegates refresh their knowledge and practice their skills in man overboard operations at an offshore mining installation.
As a team member of the Man Overboard Emergency Response Team your duty is to rescue persons out of the water in the vicinity of the offshore installation. Man Overboard situations can vary from a person who falls overboard, a helicopter ditch or an abandonment situation. The Man Overboard Emergency Response Team can also be requested by the Netherlands Coastguard to assist in a Search And Rescue operation.
The objective of the Refresher Man Overboard Coxswain (NOGEPA 2.3B) course is to refresh the knowledge of the delegates in determining the state of readiness and launching operations. They will practice with taking on board and handling MOB boats which are used on board offshore installations and the performance of rescue operations with these boats.
Everyone who is designated to act as a crew member of a Fast Rescue Craft at an offshore mining installation.
Delegates need to be in the possession of:
- a valid 2.3A or 2.3B certificate
- a valid Offshore Medical Certificate
The certificate is valid for 2 years.
